The Kamloops Ghostriders galloped into Logan Lake for the annual Initiation D hockey tournament on Friday evening, battling teams from Williams Lake(1 and 2), Kelowna, Ashcroft and Lillooet. Ghostriders finished with a record of 5-0, outscoring the opposition by a score of 86-3.
Ghostriders played well in all games, displaying excellent skating, passing and shooting.
MVP's were:
Game 1: Nathan "The Ironman" McDonald
Game 2: "Daring" Darrian Shaw
Game 3: Evan "The Extreme" Schmidt
Game 4: Brahm "The Bullet" Desai
Game 5: Andrew "The Tank" Lewis
In net for the Ghostriders were Jarrett "Lucky" Larsen, who had a shut out and a one goal game, "unstoppable" Angus McQuillan-Gordon, who only let in one goal over two games and Grayden "The Great" Baker, who stopped all but one shot.
Leading the way in scoring for the Ghostriders were Evan "The Extreme" Schmidt with 15 goals, Nathan "The Roadrunner" Theissen with 12+ goals, "Super" Sam Fuoco with 12 goals, Grayden "The Great" Baker with 10 goals, Nathan "Ironman" McDonald with 9 goals, and "Downtown" Seiji Brown with 14 goals.
Showing their incredible versatility by switching positions were Jarret "Lucky" Larsen, Josh "The Streak" Bymoen, Christian "Roof it" Ryder, "Unstoppable" Angus McQuillan Gordon, and Brahm "The Bullet" Desai.
Getting their first goals of the season were Matthew Surgeoner and Brahm Desai. Matthew Hill was unable to join the team for the tourney as he was lucky enough to be watching a Canucks game at that time.
